Focus on the 4 P’s

I’ve found that beginning a startup is an exercise in focusing my scarce resources (money + skill + time) on the things that matter most to get this off the ground. And while the options are many at the “infancy” stage of the business, I’ve boiled it down to four main areas of focus:

  1. Plan
  2. Prototype
  3. Patent
  4. Partners

…in that order.

Everything else in getting the business going seems to be an appendage to at least once of these areas. Fortunately, I have found a great legal and banking team experienced in helping clients with these issues.

I’ll write about each one in coming days with the challenges each one presents and how they are all interconnected.
